Boy’s Summer Trends

Summer fashion for little girls is the cutest. You can enter any store and find an abundance of choices. However, for boys it is a little harder to shop for due to the lack of choices. I personally love dressing my boys and getting creative with their outfits. During the summer, it is all about comfort and keeping them cool with as little clothing as possible while still looking cute and put together. Below are some of my favorite trends this summer.

1. Graphic shirts and tanks
Graphic shirts are an almost every day wear for us. You can pretty much pair them with everything and they will look cute and fun!

2. Fun shorts
Good bye boring cotton/polyester shorts, hello fun shorts! Am I the only one annoyed that I go shopping for cute bottoms and all I see is these shorts in every freaking color and that’s it for choices.

Don’t get me wrong, my boys do own a couple pairs of these, and yes they are comfy but please retailers give us a little more options! Between these athletic shorts and the khaki look shorts, there really aren’t many options.

As hard as it may be to find them, I try to find shorts with a cute pattern on them.

The distressed look trend is still going strong. Purchasing them online, such as Instagram shops, can get very pricey so I make them my self by cutting up their old jeans/pants. Read more about that here.

Harem shorts are also both trendy and super comfy/thin for the heat. I purchase the babies’ Harem shorts on Ebay for a great price. Read more on Ebay cheap fashion finds here.

3. Pop of color
Adding a pop of color, either through shoes or a pair of shorts can really make an outfit go from blahh to fun!

4. Monochrome: Black and White
What can I say, I am a sucker for monochrome everything and their outfits are not an exception.

5. Bright Neon
Summer is all about bright neon colors.

6. Accessories
Don’t forget boys can accessorize too. I love changing up their look with cute hats that coordinates their outfits, and the boys love wearing their hats (even the baby) so it’s a win-win. Putting on a pair of sunglasses and changing up the colors and style can also enhance an outfit. For special events, I add a bowtie to their collared shirt to dress it up a little with a pair of loafers. Finally, I love these cute necklaces and really wish it was easier to find more like these.

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer thus far! Here in New England the warm weather is only around for a small amount of time so we are taking full advantage of it before the cold weather returns!
